"Desist, Detrans & Detox" Book Has a New Look

Because Someone Likely Made a False Report to Amazon

We’ve updated the cover of our (sadly) bestselling book Desist, Detrans & Detox: Getting Your Child Out of the Gender Cult, because we received a quality alert from Amazon on Monday, that we might not hold the necessary copyright for images on our cover.

Desist, Detrans & Detox has been out for over a year. Why, suddenly, did the Kindle version (only) get tagged as potentially having copyright issues?

Likely because this week someone took exception to Maria Keffler’s social media profile. (Ms. Keffler is evidently guilty of wrongthink.) Advocates Protecting Children was treated to this lady’s angry-emojis on multiple posts, and both Advocates & Ms. Keffler have been getting mysterious email subscriptions to websites like the ACLU, for which we did not sign up.

It could be a coincidence that Amazon chose this week to ask if we hold the necessary copyrights for one of our books’ covers. But it’s probably not.

The three images on the old cover of Desist, Detrans & Detox were all taken from Pixabay.com, whose license agreement states “free for commercial use.” We began tracking down the photographers, to ask them to provide releases for us—one got back to us already and did so—but we decided to just update the cover instead.

We used the watercolor painting Detransitioner, for which we have permission from the copyright holder, for the new cover. We also updated the colors to reflect Advocates blue.

The content of the book is the same; if you already own it, there’s no need to purchase it again, unless you just love the new cover. If by chance you really want a print of Detransitioner by Bartleby, let us know and we’ll get one out to you.

Thank you for all of your support!
